Blair and Dixon during the first four sessions; Schippers joined Dixon as co-interviewer for the remaining sessions.
The interviewer(s) encouraged an autobiographical approach. The narrative proceeds chronologically with occasional digressions of a topical nature. Many questions were introduced off the tape, although later in the narrative the interviewers, especially Mr. Schippers, take a more active role as interrogators.
The original tape recordings and edited transcript are in the University Archives and are available under the regulations governing the use of permanent noncurrent records of the University.
An effort is currently under way to obtain slides of Streeter Blair's paintings for inclusion in the permanent slide collection of the UCLA Department of Art.
